Try my chocolate making party.
Its key to make sure parties are thought through properly and planned well in advance. This saves all the last minute running around and you can relax and enjoy your party.
So my angel says "Mum can I have a chocolate party, where everything is chocolate" This got me thinking!!! A chocolate party. Hmmm that will be different. My brain goes into party planning mode. I am thinking, how do I pull this off.
Did my research on chocolate making companies and found a few that offer children parties, there were some out there for adults. Most of the companies prefer to have the parties at their own site due to temperature of the room and storage but I really wanted one that will come to me.
Found http://www.sarajanechocolates.co.uk/. Sara Jane was very helpful. She took time to understand what I needed from the party, the number of children and how the day can be planned. She advised that the venue will require air conditioning to prevent the chocolates melting and a fridge to store the finished chocolates until the end of the party. Finding a venue was not an easy task but I found Croftons hall in Orpington http://www.mytimeactive.co.uk/leisure/hall-hire/crofton-halls/default.aspx which has air conditioning and various size halls depending on the size of the party.
Wow!! The party is really going to happen. Sara Jane Chocolates and Crofton Hall booked, I moved into party bag and co-ordination mode. So its a chocolate making party, will it not be fun to try out making chocolates at home as well. A children chocolate making book will be handy as well as some silicon chocolate moulds, working in the kitchen can be messy so an apron will be needed. A personalised Apron will give the extra touch, a little bit of online research and I found the http://www.thecottonbagstore.com/index.asp. Personalised kiddies apron and drawstring bag to keep all the little gems in. For a girlie party, a trio cup-cake design continue the team of sweets and chocolates.
A girlie bag will not be complete without a little lipgloss, ordered some cup-cake lipgloss from http://giftshackng.com/ or www.partiesbylolar.co.uk. An ice-cream pen which will be useful for writing down recipes is available with parties by Lolar.
Party bag is looking unique and useful. Well, something is missing.......... My angel chirps up; "mum aren't you going to put sweeties in the party bags" oops!!! yes we need sweets; we do not want the regular sweets now do we? Its a unique party so we need unique sweets. hmmmm the sweetcake fairy does make unique sweets. http://thesweetcakefairy.co.uk/. I ordered the sweetcones which went down a real treat even with my teenage daughter.
Party went really well. The children made chocolate truffles and chocolate monkeys. The children were great helpers mixing the chocolates in the machine, helping with the piping and they made lovely decorated Monkeys
There was a lot of animated conversation between the kids. They were in their own chocolate workshop for about 2hrs without even realising this. Sara Jane gave each child a fruit stick which was dipped in chocolate for the kids to eat.
Once all the chocolate making had been finished; the chocolates were kept in the fridge to form whilst the kids had some food and listened to music. Food was ordered from Marks and Spencers. The caterpillar sandwiches went down really well, so also did the mixed crisp, more fruit kebabs.

A party is not a party without a birthday cake. In the chocolate lover style, decided to go for a Charlie and the chocolate factory theme with a Willie Wonka chocolate fall. Cake was ordered from VD cakes. http://vdcake.com/
After four hours of fun, lots of chocolates, sweets and cakes. It was time to head home. The fun part about organising parties is it ends after a few hours and I can think of the very next party. LOL.
Do not hesitate to contact all the companies mentioned in my blog for your unique chocolate party. If it is all too much for you to organise, holla at Lola to organise and co-ordinate your party for you. email me at info@partiesbylolar.co.uk
